The role of skills development in addressing South Africa’s triple challenge of poverty, inequality and unemployment requires a coordinated effort involving numerous role players, underpinned by quality research that aims to inform the skills development planning for the sector.

Sector Skills Plan

Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) - describes the main skills development activities planned for the upcoming year and must reflect all planned training. • Annual Training Report (ATR) – reports on the education and training interventions that were delivered during the previous year. The ATR must reflect all training conducted

Mandatory Grants

The EWSETA shall pay a mandatory grant to an employer that meets the following criteria for that year: has registered with the Commissioner in terms of the Skills Development Levies Act, has paid levies directly to the Commissioner as prescribed in the Skills Development Levies Act.

Qaulification Development

OCCUPATIONAL QUALIFICATION DEVELOPMENT The EWSETA has been nominated to be a DQP for the occupational qualifications mentioned below. Qualifications under development Qualifications for public comments Recommended for SAQA registration Qualifications registered at SAQA OC: Water Inspector (Water Data Collector) – NQF Level 3. OC: Environment Manager (Water Resource Management Practitioner) – NQF Level not confirmed yet. OC: Electrical Substation Operations Manager – NQF Level not confirmed yet.

Stipend Information

EWSETA bursary covers the following expenses: Tuition fees –Statement of Account. Books and Stationery from approved university/TVET College bookstores – Supported by university/TVET textbooks and stationery list. Accommodation–accredited with University/TVET College.
